CARMEL AUTHORS & IDEAS FESTIVAL
Welcome
Due to your generous support, the Festival has become a place where great minds come to commune and to discuss contemporary issues in open, creative and engaging dialogue.
Among those early Pilgrims was our beloved Irish muse, Frank McCourt. He was the eager pilot on our river of intellectual exploration. Also, Bill Bates, the local legend who designed our first program. Their enthusiasm for what we then dreamed, sustains us now, with a beacon they left for countless others who will follow and make this dream a reality on the doorstep of John Steinbeck…they are missed.
The Festival has become a mecca for timely ideas and a “bedrock” of intellectual values which have been explored by many notable and award winning authors and leading thinkers on such diverse topics as economics, religion, mathematics, astronomy, poetry, education, humor, philosophy, globalization, food, science, technology, art, travel, security, business, law and ideas. Join us again in our continuing creative journey.
